RimWorld 1.0 Unstable - Randy Random Extreme - Gameplay | 23
New colony, had to restart due to a save file issue (this an unstable version). Some interesting patch notes included below.
RaidOMatic = Forced raids every 7 days along with the regular random raids Randy provides.

- Buff sandbags 60% to 65% coverage.
- Marble now has +1 beauty offset. So marble walls have 1 beauty. It’s still the weakest stone type
- Mining against constructed structures is now much slower than mining against natural walls. This will slow down sappers and insects when they’re digging through your defenses.
- Building watermills too close together now makes them less effective (water turbulence).
- Reduced “soaking wet” duration and made it happen in rain as well as water.
- Buffed wind turbine power output 15%.
- Hydroponics can now be built on bridges.
- Also, considering it, I'm not seeing a ton of reports about killboxes. Why is that? Are the new raid strategies making it no longer worth it? Or are y'all just trying to do something different? - Remove the "they learned your trap locations" mechanics since nobody ever noticed them anyway. Reworked them to "they're smart, they can avoid your turrets and some of your traps".
- Wind turbine now requires heavy terrain affordance.
- When a predator is hunting a colonist we now send a letter.
- Ancient shrines now always contain mechanoids or hives.
- Quality now affects ranged weapons damage and armor penetration.
- Fewer ranged weapon qualities have damage impact (only awful, masterwork and legendary.)
- The psychic drone incident drone level now depends on the colony wealth.
- Research rebalance: Increase simple research bench to 75% speed factor. Slower research skill gain. Double research costs of everything including and beyond multi-analyzer. Increase research costs of electricity, microelectronics, geothermal, long range mineral scanner.
- Ranged attacks default to 0.5 stopping power instead of 0.
- I reworked adaptation system (formerly known as ramp-up) completely; it largely revolves around giving some breathing room after heavy losses to make recovery possible. ... https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=41766.msg418238#msg418238
- Prisoner resistance: Added a new variable to prisoners called "resistance". It is reduced by a value for each interaction based on prisoner mood and warden stats.

Playing a Randy Random extreme game with the new unstable 1.0 build. I've removed psychic and poison ships, made every one super immune, and added repeating raids (every 5 days). Raids are more fun ... especially if you like to see me get my butt kicked.
Updates may break save games, or I may kill off a lot of colonies (most likely!) so no telling how many times I'll need to restart.

Some New features:
-Added bridges. You can build bridges over rivers and non-deep lake/ocean water. Bridges support all but the heaviest structures, and can burn. Also added "Soaking wet" which leaves a mood debuff for moving through water. Counter this with bridges
-Added craftable plate armor with research project
New buildings:
-Watermill generator
-Autocannon turret
-Waterproof conduit
-Butcher spot
-Double sleeping spot
New traits:
-Tunneler - Don't mind never seeing the sky
-Great memory - slower skill decay
-Tough - take less damage
-Gourmand - eat a lot, random eating binges, cooking skill bonus
-Sickly - get sick often
-Quick sleeper - take less time to sleep
-New incident: "Wild man wanders in”
-New terrain: Soft sand - doesn't allow building medium or heavy structures
-Animals can now be renamed
-New designators: Mass-forbid and unforbid (no need for a mod now!)
