Rimworld Beta 18 - Hun's On The Run! - Rimworld Gameplay Part 2
4Welcome to my let's play series on Rimworld Beta 18 on rough Randy Random difficulty in a tropical swamp! Rimworld is a colony simulator by Tynan Sylvester and Ludeon Studios!
In Rimworld you are tasked with helping survivors from a crashed space liner survive and thrive on a frontier world at the rim of known space. The world, colonists and encounters are all randomly generated and along with the AI storyteller you are given excellent replay value which ensures no 2 games will ever play out the same! Failing in this game much like Dwarf Fortress can be as fun as managing to get all you colonists off the world in the climactic space shuttle launch... It's all about the story!
In this episode we start by explaining what I have planned in between episodes for the foreseeable future with the colony which generally involves making the individual bedrooms, a common room for the oven and butchers table to be housed in and most importantly, a freezer for our food supply! After noticing that in this biome summer is going to be permanently with us and with a heatwave to deal with keeping our colonists and more importantly food cool at all times is priority number 1! We then have our first new colonist join us, a lady by the name of Hun who is being chased down by one of the local pirate factions. Suffice to say I think she will fit in fine as long as we can manage the blight that hits our crop very early on and we manage to subdue a mad animal who's trying to take Red down so just an ordinary day in Rimworld really!

RimWorld is a story generator. It’s designed to co-author tragic, twisted, and triumphant stories about imprisoned pirates, desperate colonists, starvation and survival. It works by controlling the “random” events that the world throws at you.
Your colonists are not professional settlers – they’re crash-landed survivors from a passenger liner destroyed in orbit.
Each person’s background is tracked and affects how they play.
Colonists develop (and destroy) relationships. Each has an opinion of the others, which determines whether they'll become lovers, marry, cheat, or fight.
The game generates a whole planet from pole to equator. You choose whether to land your crash pods in a northern tundra, a desert plain, a temperate forest, or a equatorial jungle!
You can tame and train animals.
People in RimWorld constantly observe their situation and surroundings in order to decide how to feel at any given moment so they might lash out or break down if they're not happy!
Wounds, infections, prosthetics, and chronic conditions are tracked on each body part and affect character's capacities!
You can repair body parts with prosthetics ranging from primitive to transcendent. You can even extract, sell, buy, and transplant internal organs!

New swamp biomes: Swamp biomes are hard to move through due to choking vegetation, and hard to build in due to swampy terrain. (Tropical swamp/Temperate swamp/Cold bog)
New incidents!
Storyful combat: A major rework of melee combat, during or after a fight you can now review the combat log to see what happened, to generate a richer story.
New furniture!
New quest reward special items!
Tribal content upgrade!
New mental breaks!
New mental inspirations!
World features like lakes, mountain ranges, and bays are now detected and named.
Many tunings, bugfixes, and redesigns!
