Rise | Amiga Demoscene Demo (AGA 030) | Sharka's MicroBytes #17
I've settled into a format for MicroBytes, focusing on interesting bits of demoscene stuff and game intros and music and general home microcomputer bits 'n' pieces.
For this MicroBytes, we have some beefy Amiga demoscene action from 1998 and a glimpse of what might have been had Project Hombre and AAA got off the ground and the next generation of Amiga computers stood toe-to-toe with Win 95 PCs and PlayStations.
While Rise from Mellow Chips and TRSI will run on an 020 A1200, it does so slowly (though not as tragically as you might expect). So, I puzzled out an 030 config (35mhz) in PUAE that worked nicely with the shader and recording without stuttering. The recommended is a 50mhz 030, but this still works quite smoothly.

Recorded on the PUAE core for Retroarch with the HSM Mega Bezel and TheNamec's Commodore Pack shaders to give an authentic display feel. Running on a 35.12mhz, 030 config with 2megs of chip and 8 of fast ram. 'Soft RGB' shader.
