Perhaps these skills aren't as popular with the standard style of railgunner but that doesn't mean they can't be effective. The freeze shot's biggest advantage is not having the cooldown period for other shots after it's fire leaving you less vulnerable. The increased attack speed will allow you to take as many shots in quick succession, even if the alternate M2 says it's "short range" that doesn't mean you can't make use of it in longer distances.

All in all I was very impressed with this difference in gameplay, I normally love using the standard SHIFT to bounce myself around all the time but with Eclipse 3 coming up, fall damage isn't really a viable strategy. I had this sick Eclipse 2 - Vision of Heresey Bandit all alternate skills run I wish I could've completed but I died on the last phase of Mithrix so you know whatever.
