Balance Test 4. This is to test the alt skills, the anti-air SAM launcher attack and the exploding shovel skill.
I don't usually upload failed tests, but this one was too goofy not to.
SUMMARY: Rocket as a middle-ranged AOE specialist, a little closer to REX than Artificer, but with more mobility instead of damage. Loadout B gives you a powerful melee attack and stronger anti-air missiles in exchange for worse mobility.
HEALTH: This is the same as the previous test, where I had bumped it up to Engineer tier. Despite dying, I feel like I made the proper number of mistakes to die here.
ATTACK: Attack feels fine at 13, like the previous test. What this tells me is that both sets of skills are actually well-made and roughly comparable, and that the volatility in this test is mostly a cooldowns issue. I like the SAM launcher, it's worse for rocket jumping but the damage and projectile speed are a bit better.
COOLDOWNS: I would still reduce the cooldown of the ultimate skill by about 2 seconds to fight bosses easier, as mentioned in the previous test. The shovel skill should also be reduced to 5 seconds from 7, in my opinion. It's an extremely risky skill to use, and it also makes your runs take longer due to your reduced mobility. I don't think 200% damage per second on a very tiny melee skill would change much, and if you can always hit the rocket jump headbonk, I think you deserve the better payout for how risky it is.
NOTES: I do wish SAM Launcher was slightly faster or exploded larger against anti-air, but that's only gonna matter when I start playing Inferno difficulty again.
BALANCE GRADE: C-. I would make an educated guess (I have done this same balance test with every other survivor in the game with less than 3% variance) that this would have cleared in 43 minutes if I hadn't fallen. This is roughly 10% variance from skill loadout A's 39 minute clear, which tells me that this is a small enough difference to fix with cooldowns. This new beta class is very promising even in loadout B, EnforcerGang is an experienced team that makes fun and well-balanced classes and it shows.
