When the history of British operations in Afghanistan comes to be written, it will contain an awe inspiring catalogue of heroics, sacrifice and unimaginable bravery. One of the latest recipients of the Conspicuous Gallantry Cross, is also a double Olympic rower. Life Guards Captain, Robin Bourne-Taylor put his life on the line for his men in Helmand Province, but has also experienced great personal tragedy, losing his girlfriend 2Lt Jo Dyer in an IED explosion in Basra in 2007.
