Rock'em Sock'em Robots Arena - Revisiting a 20 YEAR OLD game (PS1, PSX) #2
Going down the memory lane once more, today we are playing Rockem Shockem Robot Arena. Such a cool old gem of a game, where you can take the parts from your opponent defeated robot and put it on yours. Hope you enjoy it, as much as I did playing it :)

========================================
Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots is a two-player action toy and game, designed by Marvin Glass and Associates and was first manufactured by Marx toy company in 1964. It features two dueling robot boxers, Red Rocker and Blue Bomber, mechanically manipulated by the players, and the game is won when one player knocks the head off of the opponent. The 2000s version of the game by Mattel features physically smaller robots.
In the game's career mode, the player fights with each of the 14 different robots on the roster, working up the ladder. The game's main feature, and something quite innovative for it's time, was the possibility of dismembering opponents' limbs during the fights, which upon victory could result in keeping and attaching to player's robot, increasing effectiveness. Cash is also earned through fighting which is then used to purchase additional upgrades for the robot.
The original plastic Red and Blue robots from the toy acted as commentators during the fights, a comic nostalgic addition appreciated by anyone old enough to have had the toys.
