RogueLike ASCII Art Brogue, In A Browser?! YES! Behold Brogue! -- Brogue CE -- #01
BrogueCE, or Brogue: Community Edition, is a variant of the traditional ASCII RogueLike Brogue, a unique and interesting free Rogue Like RPG by Brian Walker that is very pick up and play.
Brogue is a very mouse driven rougelike, letting the player focus on getting into the gameplay, not memorizing or attempting to recall the specific keyboard key required to take an action, like Angband or Nethack require.
Brogue may be ASCII, but it is a good looking ASCII, making the gameplay easy on the eyes, and easy to follow, with excellent use of color.
Plus, Brouge has a really interesting cloud and gas system that propogates, enabling you to flood a room with caustic gas, ignite an inferno that vaporizes waters, creating scalding steam that will cook your foes, and you too! Fun stuff like that.
BrogueCE fixes a few bugs and makes a few gameplay changes to Brouge. It is Good.
Brogue is Free, and Good, and Approchable, and packing all the Procedural Generation of Dungeons, Monsters and Loot you know you Crave.
Care to give it a watch? And see if Brogue is right for you?
