So yeah, at the beginning of Turn 7 (or when you approach the gate), three Sages and a Swordmaster will spawn in front of Bertram. The Wind Sage has Blizzard and Elwind, the Fire Sage has Bolganone, Meteor, Physic and an Elixir, while the Thunder Sage has Thoron. The Meteor is there for the stealing, but you'll have to pull some fancy shenanigans to get the Blizzard tome. In my opinion just grab the Meteor and Physic and take them out. Unless you have no mage with a C in Fire or something lame like that.

For fighting Bertram: like all physical units who use magic weapons, mages are their worst nightmare. Just be sure to steal his Elixir and Spear before you kill him, as they are valuable items and there for the taking. Also, this way you don't have to worry about him switching to his Spear and hurting your mages something awful. Keep in mind, however, that if he manages to land a hit on you with his Rune Sword he will heal himself equal to the damage dealt. Another thing to consider is that this is the only Rune Sword you get in this game, and it only has 15 uses. Consider softening him up from long range (like I do with Ilyana) before moving in for the kill. If you don't want to waste a charge of Bolting, consider using that new Meteor tome you (should have) just stole(n). Alternatively you can also knock him out with that Sleep Staff. Just keep in mind he will heal himself with his Elixir or from the "Throne" if you give him a chance, so take him out on one Player Phase if you can.

Even after you defeat Bertram, if you care to hang around, there will continue to be reinforcements on Turn 9, 10 (not 11 like we originally said) and 13. Since par time for this chapter, before you start losing BEXP, is 13 Turns I recommend hanging around and mopping them up for the extra EXP. You can even steal some nifty weapons off them if you care to. Which I do.

And with that anti-climactic note, we clear Chapter 26!

Next episode we'll be tackling Castle Nados, and our mortal enemy, the Black Knight. Oh noes, my Ike is not at level 20 yet! Wait--he's maxed his four primary stats, never mind.

Finally, a note on pronunciation: In Welsh a single "f" is pronounced like a "v" and "dd" as the hard "th" as in "the." Though I don't know if Hafedd is a Welsh name, it shares a similar spelling to Dafydd, which I know for a fact is pronounced like "Dah-vith", thus: "Hah-veth".

NOW YOU KNOW.
