The Black Knight. Possibly the hardest boss in FE9. Ragnell magically appears in Ike's inventory, replacing the last weapon in there isn't room. The Black Knight has Alondite, 48 Attack and the 30% chance to activate Luna. He also regains 6 HP at the start of his phase. There are three outcomes to this fight:

1: You forfeit the match (have Ike escape), or 5 turns pass before you kill the BK. If this happens Nasir breaks up the fight, you get loads of shame and Ena joins you.
2: You defeat the BK in 5 turns or less. If this happens you get GLORY, Ena is saved, and Nasir joins you.
3: The BK kills Ike. Then it's GAME OVER and you have to restart Chapter 27 FROM THE BEGINNING. So, no pressure!

There are actually several ways to fight him. Basically all of them become much more feasible if you max all of Ike's principle stats (Str, Skill, Spd and Def) and make sure he has 54+ HP. With the +5 Def boost from Ragnell, this means Ike can survive a regular and a Luna attack without healing. So I recommend doing that at least. If you're not training Mist, you basically have to load Ike up on skills (Miracle + Aether or Adept + Wrath are the two best skill sets IMO), and hope for good activation. Sit Ike next to the BK and give him Elixirs to heal himself on Player Phase. (Attacking on Player Phase leaves Ike vulnerable to a double-hit of Luna, which WILL kill him.)

If you ARE training Mist, have her stick around and heal Ike so he can get some hits on the BK in on his phase. (Don't worry, the BK won't go after her.) Two Halberdiers with Spears and a Bishop with Shine and Physic appear on Turn 3, and they WILL try to kill Mist. If your Mist isn't very strong you probably want to get her out of there ASAP. If you've got an Uber Mist with the Rune Sword, like I do, just have her concentrate on healing Ike, and she'll destroy the enemies when they try to attack her.

Be careful, if Mist isn't around, that Bishop can try to heal the BK.

If your Mist is strong enough to stick out the entire fight, and your Ike has maxed Strength, you can actually just beat the BK to death with regular attacks, provided Ike lands a hit every single phase. You can of course up you chances by giving Ike Aether and hoping for some lucky hits.

In my case, I get outcome 4: Ike draws on the power of Inigo Montoya, activates Guile's Theme, and the Black Knight rage quits. (Nasir joins us, too.)
