2A tool for EXTREMELY dedicated developers only, not reccomended for casual users
+ A nice selection of assets
+ No scripting needed (although you may require some knowledge)
+ Fairly easy to make a basic short game
+ Easy to create dialogue, and dialogue choices
+ It "can" be fun to make little games for friends
+ You can import pictures, video, and music easily into the game
+ Possibility to sell your game for a profit (although HIGHLY unlikely)
- Takes a LONG time to learn as a beginner you will be spending a lot of time watching Youtube tutorials
- All games made in RPGMaker feel similar to one another making your game feel less unique
- Combat system is pretty generic
- Tricks people into believing it's easy and fun when in reality it takes a enourmous amount of time, effort, and talent to make anything worth while. (i'm guessing over 3 months of solid time invested)
- There isn't any pre-built events or scripts to help you along, and it's often quite confusing to figure out how to do very basic things, and often the events you think look reaosnable end up not working at all
- The Price Tag is pretty ridiculous (this program is 4 years old) currently at $69.99 +$1100 of DLC O.o
- You quickly realize that making games is not all that fun
