The gameplay in World of Final Fantasy has a turn-based, hat-based system which involves wearing a monster as a hat which in turn wears another monster as a hat.These monster hats give special abilities and powers like healing and black magic. You can choose between wearing a hat with a hat or being a hat wearing a hat. Hat-based combat requires you to not wobble or topple under the weight of your hat/s. Enemies can wear each other as hats too, powering themselves up with each other’s abilities. Take your hats off at any time in battle and command each hat individually, or combine your powers and become much stronger by wearing them (and being worn). Combo abilities with stacked hats, like upgraded magic. Hats come in several sizes, including small and medium, along with the large un-hats and super rare Extra Large summons. Upgrade and evolve hats as they level up, and change between evolutionary forms at any time.
The graphics are stunning with all hats looking hatsolutely adorable, yet stylish. Stylised graphics with almost plasticine-like textures and a well-adjusted depth of field effect make the game look like a stop-motion film with tiny models.
Soundtrack features heavily remixed versions of classic FF themes, many of which will play in battle when certain characters are summoned.
The aim of World of Final Fantasy is to wander around collecting and wearing hats because, in keeping with classic Final Fantasy, the main characters have no clue who they are or what they’re supposed to be doing. But who needs memories when you have hats with hats? The hats seem simultaneously completely unconnected and yet entirely the only plot in World of Final Hats. Deliberately complicated plot with two opposing prophecies that the amnesiac main characters are supposed to fulfill
There are plenty of adorable Funko Pops making appearances including Warrior of Light, Tifa, Squall and many others. These famous Final; Fantasy characters are summoned during battle with jewellery (not hats). These characters also feature heavily in sidequests and have their own mini-plots that you can help them out with.
Overall I greatly enjoyed World of Hats Hats.It’s fun and silly, with lots of references and even more hats. I give this game eight top hats out of sombrero. Thanks. ...Hats!
