This has happened to my SR45 since I took it to the range the first time. The slide will not lock in place all the time on an empty magazine. It happens worse as the gun gets used at the range. Once the gun gets used, the slide just snaps back on an empty magazine and it dry fires. Not really helpful when you're practicing. This gun was sent back to Ruger once and this was supposed to be fixed. I will say that Ruger support is excellent, though, and I'm sure they'll take care of this.
