Ruiner... it's effing brill!

Cyberpunk action shooter with bullet time and RPG skills progression. It has a real fast and showy combat mechanic, with teleport dashes and energy shields and guns with unique character, and melee combat to die for.

The Cyberpunk theme is absolutely spot on, and the music, lighting and whole environment screams dystopian nightmare. The progression through zones, seems to be linear-ish, travelling through corridors with collectibles, and heal/energy juicing zones that connect fight nodes, where you're locked in until you overcome the odds. Mini-bosses and stage bosses are where the variety is, although your average mobs seem to have enough diversity to keep waves interesting.

The controls are twin stick, but for movement and direction, not traditional movement and firing line. R1 is melee, R2 is shoot, L1 is special/dash - the skills are on a wheel, that can be configured to the various buttons and shoulder triggers available. You collect Karma to unlock/boost skills. Karma is awarded along the way, or from chests, or from a Clean up droid that converts all the guns/equipment dropped in the zone, into Karma (a nice touch).

The normal setting is just punishing enough for me. Although my old man reactions may be a little too slow as it ramps up the challenge later on..
