#RunicRemains Contest Results (My Singing Monsters)
Thanks to everyone who entered, even if you didn't make it in. I had a lot of fun putting these designs together, so I hope you enjoy them!
@Artomlet33- Rare Enstemble
Bio:
"Long ago, a small population of Enstembles traveled away from the tropical environments the species typically spends its time in, winding up in a freezing tundra forest. Over time, the group adapted to their environment, developing icy fangs for defense and cloudlike patches of furthers as protection from the icy cold. The personality of every Rare Enstemble is wildly different, and the three heads rarely get along, so you never know what you’re getting into when you encounter one. Only one thing is for certain—things always get cooler when a Rare Enstemble is around!"
@apple4893 - Rare Qilasuri
Bio:
"Far below even the Monstriana
Trench, lifeforms can be shaped
wildly by the monstrothermal
vents of Bone Abyss. Several
sightings have been reported
over the years of a strange
series of lights in the depths
around Bone Abyss, and it was
only recently that this subspecies
was discovered. Each Rare
Qilasuri is covered with bioluminescent spots that occasionally
flash in brilliant shades of blue,
purple, and green. It was originally
theorized that these were used
for communication, as light is
sparse in the depths of the abyss.
However, it was discovered that
Rare Qilasuri use them to impress
other monsters with dazzling
displays of light—how illuminating!"
@AncientCrow_ and @mushguy97 - Rare Caracoal
Bio (inspired by @AncientCrow_):
The current population of Rare Caracoals began as a small offshoot of their common cousins. Rather than embracing the social butterfly tendencies of their species, they decided they preferred time to themselves, shedding the blue shells that defined them and appreciating their true selves. Forged inside their ferrous shells, their instruments became more sturdy and less prone to weathering. As they slowly cooled, they began decorating themselves with patterns of rocks and even used their superheated bodies to create intricate carvings on some. Despite the variants’ shift to a more isolated lifestyle, a Rare Caracoal will occasionally enjoy a good time with some friends.
@its_kitkatz - Rare Noctilune
Bio:
"If the Monstroglyphics that line the stone pillars of Wondrous Glade can tell us anything, it’s that there is only one Noctilune. How, then, is it possible for a Rare version to exist? Well, it turns out that the strato-seasonal has the ability to make illusions—and while it mostly uses this for card tricks or to enhance a tale it’s spinning, it can also be used to create projections (some might say “copies”) of itself. These projections typically behave the same as the original Noctilune, but some can seem to develop a mind of their own. That’s where Rare Noctilune comes in—or rather, floats in! This variant seems much more in tune with the Monster World, with the symbol of the Colossals marked on its head and runes for Monster World classes inscribed on the stones it carries. It has only been spotted a handful of times, but it appears to share its creator’s ability to produce mirages, as some sightings report multiple beings present. This only goes to show that in the Monster World, you’re never finished learning!"
