I'm not always uploading nonsense and memes, this video is proof. This is a simple short form commentary on the background of hip-hop, to lead into the current political climate in Russia involving Putin administration's attempt to censor Russian hiphop.

The topic originally became aware to me due to the arrest of Husky (Хаски) reaching my radar, and from there and followed the state of affairs. Putin is intelligent enough to realize that Russian rappers are now a part of the culture, but still arrogant enough to believe that hip hop can be “guided.” You can’t guide something that you don’t understand, much like how the consersative types in America attempted with NWA, Public Enemy, and so on. Hip Hop is the voice of the voiceless, sometimes that’s bad, sometimes it’s good, and everything in-between. Mind you, it isn’t something that is immune to discussion, thinking that one can control an artistic medium where its very foundation is being against, “the man.”

It’s punk with 808s. And best believe that I may not know Russian, but I salute anybody who represents our music and refuses to back down.
