Survivors! This month, we're thrilled to announce the release of phase one of Aquageddon on the main branch for RUST Console Edition. Get ready for new underwater adventures that'll completely transform your gaming experience. From new vehicles to new monuments, this update is packed with exciting features to explore. Stick around till the end of the Dev Blog so you don’t miss a beat!
SUBMARINES
One of the most exciting additions in this update is the introduction of submarines. These new vehicles let you dive deep into the waters surrounding the island. Equipped with Torpedoes, they enable you to engage in underwater battles against other subs, sharks, and even boats on the surface! Submarines are powered by low-grade fuel and offer up to 10 minutes of dedicated oxygen, which can be replenished by surfacing. Available for purchase at the Fishing Village, there are two types: Solo Sub: Perfect for lone adventurers. Duo Sub: More resistant, provides space for a second survivor, and comes equipped with a sonar radar. Both submarines have compartments for stashing loot, accessible from the rear. To get your hands on one, visit the Fishing Village where you can exchange them for scrap! Controlling a submarine should be intuitive, but if you need extra help, here is the control scheme for piloting one:
UNDERWATER LABS
Another significant addition to the RUST Console Edition is the Underwater Labs. Unlike anything you’ve encountered before, these labs require underwater transportation to access and are procedurally generated, making each one a unique experience for different servers throughout the wipe. To access these labs, you’ll need to locate one of two moon pools. One allows for submarine parking, while the other is smaller and requires you to swim through. Beware, new types of scientists patrol these facilities, ready to confront any intruders! Inside, you can expect a variety of loot depending on your lab's layout. You’ll encounter puzzle rooms and plenty of crates to loot. For a real challenge, head to the recreational room where you can try to beat the high score on Chippy Arcade!
NEW MAP CONTROLS AND MARKERS
Aquageddon Phase One also brings important updates to map functionality. New controls allow you to easily switch between terrain layers, making it simple to find locations like the new Underwater Labs. We've also added a new legend panel that explains the various map pins, with filtering options to help you find specific locations quickly! Try out these new map features to enhance your RUST Console Edition experience even further!
PHASE 2
With Aquageddon Phase 1 set to launch on May 30th, we’re already gearing up for Phase 2, which is scheduled to release on the main branch on July 27th. Phase 2 will hit the public test branch early next month, introducing a new ping system and the much-anticipated tugboats. We’ll explore these exciting additions in our next Dev Blog, so stay tuned! Underwater labs (Sea Labs) and Tug Boat update all have release dates all coming soon for Rust Console Edition on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X. Underwater labs update hitting us on May 30th 2024. We now know that the Tug boats will be included in the phase 2 starting Early June 2024 on Public Testing branch and should be on Main branch by the end of June 2024. Sea Lab (Underwater Labs Update) will include both Submarines solo and duo version will be coming with the Update. With Underwater Labs (Sea Labs) is on the horizon, it will be the next content update. Quick look into the next big update after Underwater labs for Rust Console Edition.
