In short: They didn't do anything to make multiplayer work beyond relying on Steam Remote Play Together, which already doesn't work.

Which is unfortunate, because I still haven't been able to try out the multiplayer. We'll have to make it through the campaign fully on at least one of the characters before I'll consider the game even remotely beaten, but there's so much to do that I'm going to have trouble getting my focus to complete any one given task. Bit of choice paralysis, even when you're trying to play as one character, because it's constantly throwing you into those minigames for the most part.

The actual boss battle got locked up on was too much for my wrists for the night, and I'll have to try again later.
