For this run I turned the wait control off, so there is no slowdown like in the original arcade game, which makes it a bit harder in this port (the port also has a higher difficulty available than the arcade, called "SP Difficult".

This game is pretty ridiculous and a lot more frustrating than I could have imagined. Right off the bat, I discovered that there is absolutely no way to earn extends, and recovering on deaths is impossible in certain areas. Also, your forcefield is 100% useless and actually gets depleted by running into the freaking powerups of all things! What kind of piss poor programming is that?
It's a painful game in some ways, but it does have very frenetic action, and there is pretty much never a dull moment. The stage 4 boss is legendary for destroying the player's will and ending a run instantly.
