Steps based on my limited timed tests: (Auto Attack - AA)
(1st in melee sword) AA - Cancel it with Taunt 2 - AA
(2nd with ranged gun) AA - Cancel it with Taunt 2 - AA

Advantage : Non, the instant coin doesn't seem to hit, if it does hit then
its cause the taunt animation played out in the background while the
AA animation was being played over it, but in this case the AA
doesn't hit the target, so its basically pointless.

What's the Point : A Visual flare :D
