This stunning little local/regional airport based on the Californian coast between San Francisco and LA is sure to fulfill your fun local flights around the CA region, especially in SF or LA. It makes a great starting airport for short scenic flights around the entire California region.
The airport is also known as San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport and even McChesney Field with an official code of KSBP.
The airport generally deals with GA (general aviation) aircraft traffic but does have three passenger airlines visiting providing direct flights to Seattle, San Francisco, Portland, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Denver, and Dallas-Fort Worth.
The airport hit record growth over the last few years and serves almost 500,000 passengers per year and has built a new commercial terminal and new hanger to handle this demand and future expectations.
This virtual creation of the airport exclusively for the Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) 2020 release has been really developed with true eye-to-detail and with explicit and accurate accuracy. It makes use of all of the new features MSFS has to offer including PBR, HD textures, and much more. It's very accurate.
The payware add-on features high-resolution modeling (both 3D polygons and HD textures) of the entire terminal and FBO. All hangars and buildings are included and have been mastered up to the same spec.
There are animated boarding gates/jetways that are accurate and based on real-world data.
All of the ground markings and taxiway markings are very precise and based on real-world data. there are custom animations of 3D objects such as windsocks, flags, and more.
All of the AI and animated objects, aircraft, and detailing around the airport are realistic and accurate.
The grass, trees and general vegetation are all included and also worked on based on the current airport state.
To go one step further, all of the scenery add-ons have been run by actual residents and pilots from the SLO county airport community to verify the accuracy of the flight sim version.
The add-on is released as payware which means you need to purchase it in order to use it.
