A walkthrough on how to prepare your local machine for local development for SAP BTP Cloud Foundry Applications, as explained in the SAP Developers tutorial at: https://developers.sap.com/tutorials/btp-app-set-up-local-development.html

As a background, your alternative is doing the development directly in Business Application Studio(BAS) in Cloud Foundry Environment. Some would prefer the local option as you would not need subscription to Business Application Studio(please correct me in the comments if I'm wrong) and it can also help developers code even without active internet connection.
