Sarah tries to qualify for CTWC, the NES Classic Tetris World Championship
9Sarah's always been a bit a of whiz at Tetris. As a kid, her best score was over 400,000. She's been training some recently and gotten as high as 340,000 despite the controller being a bit old and crappy. She's also a big fan of the Vlogbrothers, and John watches the tournament, so we thought it might be worth trying to qualify. We didn't know what kind of score would be necessary, but we thought, if she could equal her best, it might be possible. At the very least we'd get a record of a decent score we could send off to the high score folks. And maybe next year she'll try again with a better controller.
This year the qualifiers were all on Twitch due to COVID. Here's the stream, with the boring bits edited out. I also fixed some sync issues we were having with the webcam where it would periodically go in and out of sync. The original stream is still up on her Twitch channel (missmollygrue) for another week or so.
