Sets up the multi-lib repositories.
Installs the paru AUR helper.
Supports automatic and manual disk partitioning for both MBR and UEFI systems.
Configures the GRUB bootloader.
Installs a collection of dotfiles for installed programs, enhancing the aesthetic and functionality of the environment.
Directly boots into TTY without a display manager to minimize bloat, but automates the startx command to launch the graphical environment.
Offers the option to replace sudo with opendoas, creating symlinks and aliases as necessary.
Assumes usage of the Arch minimal install CD ISO or the ISO on the the releases page.
You can also use the ISO in the releases section.
It will start you into Awesome WM, from there an Alacritty prompt will open and you can follow the instructions on screen
Automatic Partitioning
If you prefer automatic partitioning, the script will create the following partitions:
For UEFI systems: EFI system partition (512M), Linux Filesystem boot partition (512M), and the root partition (remainder of the disk).
For MBR systems: Linux Filesystem boot partition (512M) and the root partition (remainder of the disk).
You will need to select the disk on which to install the system.
Manual Partitioning
If you choose manual partitioning, create the following partitions before running the script:
For UEFI:
EFI system partition: at least 512M at /mnt/boot/EFI, formatted in F32
Boot partition: at least 512M at /mnt/boot, formatted with ext4
Root partition: at least 20G at /mnt, formatted with your preferred filesystem
For MBR:
Linux Filesystem boot partition: 512M at /mnt/boot, formatted with ext4
Root partition: at least 20G at /mnt, formatted with your preferred filesystem
Optional:
Home partition or any other custom partitioning as per your requirements
After partitioning, run mkdir /mnt/etc then genfstab -o /mnt/etc/fstab to generate the filesystem table.
Post-Installation
After installation, the system will not have a display manager, and you will log into TTY1. The .bash_profile will be configured to run startx automatically, launching the Awesome Window Manager.
Supported Filesystems
The script assumes a normal Linux filesystem for root and any child partitions, without LVM or LUKS. Manual intervention may be required for more complex partitioning schemes.
Software and Configuration
The script installs the minimum programs necessary for a usable desktop experience, tailored to work with the provided dotfile configurations.
