To cut things short, if alt + tab to something else (a web browser, software, app, etc) the game has issues, it doesn't maximize again. For me, my only choice is to close the game at the task manager.
If you're like me, you have 2 monitors, this game doesn't have anything at the options to force the game to display at a certain monitor, unlike most recent games.
