Scarlet Weather MUGEN Tournament: Round 2 Recap, Updates, Round 3 Information + Matchups
Hello everyone, and welcome to the Scarlet Weather MUGEN Tournament's Round 2 Recap and Round 3 information video!
To start, let's go over the 16 teams who advance to Round 3:
Jerry Kisaragi, Random Person, Juanito Rosales, TristanDR, M0nKeY mAn, Mayyro, SuperOverlord Yeet, Hanging Around, MarcBlaster the Gamer, Izuru Kamukura, B-man 9000, Neville Hakurei, Brickster Trickster, Yellowpig 10, Toodee, and MUGEN INDO.
To the teams who made it this far, we congratulate you for doing so. And we wish for the teams who did not make it past the second round to not feel too bad. We do encourage you to watch until the end of the tournament and cheer on the other participants.
Round 2 only had 3 battles with three rounds, but some of the 2-0 ones had rounds that were quite close, so it did feel intense at times. Surprisingly, some teams and characters that usually made it to the semi-finals in past tournaments were eliminated earlier this time around.
We're also seeing a lot of strategies from a ton of characters. There's the DDR X fighters, a healing mage, a boss mage, and projectile spammers! But it's also worth noting that some fighters who normally dominate in 1v1 don't do as well in simul if their partner doesn't sync well with them. So there's a lot to consider when assembling your teams.
If we forgot to mention something here, feel free to let us know. Our next tournament will not be a viewer registration one, but one we intend to do where we generate teams ourselves and have it more of a KOF across the many franchises.
Overall, we appreciate your feedback and we may use it for consideration for the future.
Round 3 will have matches twice a day again, with life set to 220%. We might continue to do two matches a day for a bit longer this time, so the tournament might end sooner than you'd think!
Like with Round 2, there's gonna be a theme for each day of battles in Round 3. Each theme will determine the type of stages used, and it's in a specific order from the same source as the order we used for Round 2. If no one seems to figure it out yet, we'll reveal it.
As usual, check out the brackets with this link below. These will update with each match, but you are free to reference these at any time:
