Dear Mechamind, the author of the level was clever enough to make the key not solid, thus making it impossible to break. Here is a video of where all 37 red coins are. This being a Yoshi's Island level, it was based around the original 20 coins. You can barely tell the coins are there due to their slight reddish orange tent. I accidentally collected 17 normal yellow coins, sorry.
