This video is the synthesis of my thoughts on immersive sims over the years, my reviews on their associated games, the legacy of the genre, and the overall future of the System Shock legacy. You can read all my reviews on the genre from my curator page and/or Steam review links listed down below if you want any specifics on the matter, and this video is the focal point towards my greater concerns with the future of this genre.

Normally I would write out a lengthy script outlining all my thoughts nice and clean, but much like the trans-humanism motifs in this series, I decided to approach this topic with a stream of consciousness method to dissect my personal qualms. While immersive sims are not a dead genre, they are plagued by many misfortunes, old and new, and a reboot is just what these games need in order to thrive. However, as much as people truly want System Shock in all its unrefined glory, I will intend to explain why asking for the exact thing you want will only lead to disappointment. (No, this is not another instance of the infamous BlizzCon meme.)
