How to add Wings mod and Engineer's Toolbox mod to survival:

1. Back up "your user name\appdata\roaming\axolot games\scrap mechanic\user\user_.....\save\survival\"your save game name".db

2. Back up "program files\steam\steamapps\common\scrap mechanic\survival\crafting recipes\craftbot.json

3. Copy "your user name\appdata\roaming\axolot games\scrap mechanic\user\user_.....\save\survival\"your save game name".db and paste it in "your user name\appdata\roaming\axolot games\scrap mechanic\user\user_.....\save

4. Download the edited craftbot.json file from https://gofile.io/d/2QLu0p and use it to replace the one in "program files\steam\steamapps\common\scrap mechanic\survival\crafting recipes\craftbot.json OR edit the file yourself by following the steps below.

5. Go to the Scrap Mechanic Workshop page in Steam and subscribe to the Wings mod and Engineer's Toolbox mod.

6. Load up the game, click play, and click Creative Mode. Select your save, then click mods, and enable the 2 mods. Then click "select mods" and click "Yes" at the prompt.

7. Click Play, and check the craft bot to see if it worked.

8. From now on, ALWAYS load your game from Creative Mode.

As far as I know, the game will function as a regular survival game. I don't know if you can copy the save file back into the survival folder, after enabling the mods, or if you HAVE to play in creative mod, for the mods to be loaded.

----(optional)---

In theory you can do this with any mod, as long as you can get the item IDs for the modded parts.

You can find the Ids for your subscribed mods here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\387990then click the folder for the mod u want (you can figure out which is which in the next step)Now click on objects, database, shapesets,The files in this folder will show the UUID's for the parts of the mod.

You can then freely add them to your craftbot file, if u want.

You want to copy the UUID numbers into the craftbot.json files by making a recipe for them, like I did in the craftbot.json file provided.

All I did was copy and paste one of the vanillia recipes, and replace the first itemID with the modded part UUID.

I had to do this for each modded part, and there are a lot of wing parts.

I have done this with several mods, and they all appear in the craftbot list.
NOT ALL MOD PARTS WILL WORK, but from what I have tested, most of them DO.

Before yesterdays update, I was running "the modpack", "wings", "engineers toolbox", "MJM sci-fi", and "buoyancy mod". Sadly, the update made my game crash while loading the save.

All those mods were installed the same way I explained here, EXCEPT "the modpack".

That mod has been fixed up and made for survival by Lord Sputnik. and you can find the guide to adding "the modpack" to your game here: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198020729018/myworkshopfiles/?section=guides

If you want "the modpack" and other mods, be sure to install the modpack first, as it will replace the craftbot file.

If you want to make your own recipes, or edit these, you can look in the "program files\steam\steamapps\common\scrap mechanic\survival\CraftingRecipes\item_names.json file, to find the vanilla UUIDS.

This way you can make the recipes with the ingredients you want.

I hope this helps someone!

Thanks to DasEtwas for making this possible!

and Thanks to Paul Piski for the guide he made to help get me started!

Note: the craftbot file in the link, was originally from before the update on 6.24.20, so if the developers changed anything since then, the modded craft bot file provided will not include their changes.

Sadly I cannot get a new copy without uninstalling all of my mods, and possibly corrupting my save file.

So for best results, open the modded craftbot file provided, scroll to the bottom, and copy the recipes that are at the bottom(all but the last one), and paste them into the bottom of your vanilla craftbot file.

The very last recipe is a vanilla recipe, i left it at the bottom to prevent confusion with commas.

SO, the bottom of the modded craftbot file i provided above, has the recipes for all wing parts, and all engineers toolbox parts, just scroll to the very bottom, and they are in sections with a lot of returns.
From the bottom of the modded craft bot list, the first recipe is the vanilla part (pylon i think), then there are 6 recipes above that, that are engineers toolbox parts, then there are 45 recipes above those that are the wings mod parts.

just copy the wings mod part recipes, and engineers toolbox part recipes to ur vanilla craftbot file. (be sure to leave 1 vanilla recipe at the bottom of the file ur editing, to prevent complication with commas)
