His argument is that The Last Jedi doesn't retcon The Force Awakens, and I agree. I agree with him that Rian Johnson didn't retcon The Force Awwakens (he retconned The Force with Yoda summoning lightning, and inventing Lightspeed Ramming, forever changing the space battles in Star Wars, and calling into question the previous movies.)

However, Rian Johnson certainly does drop or remove all the setups from The Force Awakens, in favor of...well, nothing. This is called lazy to bad writing.
