In this Zega Mame Gear video review, we get the DIY kit and see how easy it is to build. We use the recommended Raspberry Pi Zero 2, testing many systems and if it's actually worth the purchase.
There are multiple shells and lens models that you can mix and match, and supports Raspberry Pi Zero, Raspberry Pi Zero 2, Raspberry Pi 3A+, and the Raspberry Pi CM4.

Our unit used the standard 3.2" display, 4-button layout, and the Pi Zero 2 board.
You can upgrade to a 3.5" display and use the Pi CM4, which boosts speeds to near the Pi4 but will have an impact on battery life.
