1I don't know what is this trend where everyone keep throwing black materia as if they don't need it in this part of the story lol. there was a few dropping scene inside the ancient ruin already, then there was also Barred misunderstood that this is fake and drop it to Sephiroth. Then Sephiroth trying to teach his dog, playing fetch with Cloud, then Aerith who has try to hide it, but no way to do so, because of whisper so she gave in. I think that she could have tried dropping the materia into the pit though. That could be a better way to resist this.
