After trudging through the desert, Sam comes upon the entrance of a tomb. He eventually makes his way to the exit, where he finds dead soldier's ear piece. He uses it to communicate with EDF headquarters only to have Hellfire respond. She informs him that a sneak attack by Mental's Horde has occurred, and that Quinn, and Charlie Team are dead. Hellfire is then killed by a Gnaar who ambushes her. With the last remnants of EDF decimated, Sam effectively becomes the Last man on Earth.

Sam now must take the place of Charlie Team and make his way to the Timelock to send himself back in time to kill Mental.

A short level when compared to the previous ones, but fun nonetheless. There is a sense of urgency in this one, I found myself going about this level quicker than any level I've done so far, it must be because the next one is going to be the longest yet. Did have a few slip-ups here and there, and close calls.

Eleven secrets in this segment:
1: 5:05 - 5:15 On the boulder trap, after successfully dodging the boulder, go to very top where the boulder was originally stationed, there is a small alcove in the wall containing some secret minigun bullets.
2: 7:52 - 7:56 After exiting the tombs, near the corner behind you is a small trailer, behind the trailer is some small mini-secret armor.
3: 12:10 - 12:15 Right before you go into the area of the temple with the small pool of water, there is a broken tower-like structure in close proximity. Jump onto the top of the neighboring broken wall, and use it to jump across into broken tower. Inside you'll find a secret XL2 Laser gun. Be careful, the wall you use to jump into the broken tower can be be broken by a stray rocket as seen in the video. Be sure the nearby Scrapjack is dealt with so it doesn't break it completely with a rocket, otherwise this secret might be unobtainable.
4: 21:33 - 21:38 Right before you enter the slum area, nearby the trailer which contains Ramesseum key, there is a structure you can walk into which has two crates with nothing on top of them. If you go to the very back, and look up at the ceiling, you'll see that there is a crate blocking the opening in the ceiling, shoot the crate and a secret sniper rifle will fall out.
5: 22:41 - 22:48 After entering the entrance to the slum area, follow the road to your right until you pass the doorway. To your left will be a small dune, quickly make your way over the dunes, and hidden on the other side are seven secret C4 charges.
6: 23:23 - 23:27 After secret five, follow the road to the doorway on the other side (Meaning if you had just entered the slum area, you'd follow the road to your left), once you passed the doorway, turn left and you will see some secret armor on the sand.
7: 25:13 - 25:30 There a broken wall near the entrance to the slums, jump on it and walk to the nearby roof, and then walk onto the next wall which will lead you nearby a two-story building with a balcony, on the balcony you should see a secret sniper magazine.
8: 25:30 - 25:32 Immediately after getting secret seven, in the corner against the wall beneath the balcony is some mini-secret health. If you jumped to get secret seven and fall down back to ground level, you can simply wall backwards until you hit the corner and you'll collect this secret.
9: 26:13 - 26:17 To the right in the slums is a large building which has a crude metal fence, against the metal fence are some crates. Use the crates to jump over into fenced area, where you'll find some secret electricity cells.
10: 27:28 - 27:42 Near the end of the slums, there is a building nearby the car you fill up with gas which has two crates (One has some shotgun shells on top of it, the other has some armor on it), use the crates to jump on the roof of the building, on the roof of the building you'll find some secret electricity cells. Make sure the crates for this secret aren't broken, otherwise this secret might be unobtainable.
11: 27:49 - 27:59 Near the top left corner of the slum area is a broken wall surrounded by a few trees. Hidden against the wall on the other side are some secret minigun bullets.
