Shadow No More: MiG-35 Test Flight - Ace Combat 7
Ace Combat has long stuck with the MiG-29A, the original Fulcrum, all the way back from 1983. That kinda reflects real life, though: Flanker this, Flanker that... for political and doctrinal reasons, the Su-27 family always took priority in development. Which I think is an absolute shame, if you look at how much its western equivalent, the F-16, has evolved since. I think the Fulcrum is a vastly underrated airframe, superior to the Flanker in many ways, and which could be formidable if given similar focus.
Well, just like in real life, people seem to have finally realized that. The MiG-35 arrives in AC7 after first showing up in Infinity, and it is good. It's slightly paradoxical, in that despite being a multirole, it's more air combat focused than its older self; but what it does, it does pretty damn well. If you already like the Mig-29 in AC7, you'll like this - it's everything it was, and then some.
