Shadowrun - Multiplayer Raid match (Troll PWnage) Part 1
This is a recent raid match in Shadowrun. This is part 1, Part 2 can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18RzerGf4_g Still one of the best games that allow cross platform play between the PC and 360. Though the game never got any DLC, it still has a great player base. Not to mention you can get it pretty cheap at the store or online.
It has been quite awhile since I played much Shadowrun but I have many friends who still play regularly over on the Games for Windows Forums (http://forums.gamesforwindows.com). So it took me a few rounds to get warmed up, but once I got back in the swing of it, I started handing out the PWNage Cookies by the dozen. Troll Minigun FTW!
For this match I play as a Troll, they are large and slow, but can take a ton of damage. Also as the troll takes damage, their skin hardens making them take even less damage. I tend to stick to a pretty simple combination of skills and gear when playing as the troll. My first tech upgrade is usually Smartlink which gives you an extra level of zoom on all weapons and makes you more accurate when firing. For the first couple rounds, I will usually stick with whatever weapons I can grab off of enemy bodies, so I can save my money for my second skill, the spell Summon. This allows me to summon a demon that can track down enemies and attack them, which gives me more damage dealing potential as well as serving as a decoy to draw enemy fire away from myself. Once I have Smartlink and Summon, I usually stick with a weapon combo of Minigun (Gatling gun, great for Trolls), and either an SMG or a Rifle for my secondary weapon. The minigun is my main damage dealer, but if I need to move a bit quicker, or clear bodies, I can switch to the SMG.
For those who don't play Shadowrun, clearing bodies is shooting the dead enemies body to make it disappear. You need to do this to keep their teammates from using the resurrection spell on them and bringing them back into the battle. This was a raid match on the Dig Site map, one team tries to steal the artifact and take it to the score area, and the other team attempts to stop them. A round ends when one team scores, or a team has all of it's players killed. Games of Shadowrun can be very long especially if you are not clearing bodies and the enemy is using the resurrection spell. This match was a little over 30 minutes, so I cut out some of the loading screens and times where I was waiting to be resurrected after getting killed. This is part 1, part 2 will be up shortly.
