Victorian liberal leader John Pesutto heckled as he was introduced to the party's state council meeting on Saturday. Boos and chants of "shame" and "shame" drowned out the initial applause he gave to Mr. Pesutto at the meeting in Bendigo. Some in the audience also made signs referring to Upper House MP Moira Deeming, who was recently kicked out of the Liberal Party Chamber. Multiple participants brought along cuts of MS Deeming's face, which they placed in front of their faces. An unirritated Mr. Pesutto was quickly carried to the podium to deliver his speech, and as the cries of "shame" dissipated, a man shouted "We Love You John". Mr. Pesutto went on explain what it was like to make his first address the meeting as head of state. The Hawthorn MP won Liberal lead after a state election defeat last November - the coalition's third consecutive loss for Daniel Andrews-led workforce. Mr. Pesutto went on to refer to his early work supporting the Liberal Party before Parliament, using the staunch "I'm like you" as an example. "Since joining the party 30 years ago, I've done it all in March 1993," Pesutto said. "Branch President, Treasurer, Secretary, Branch Development Officer, I unfolded chairs, re-stacked chairs, swept the floor of streamers and balloons, lifted frames, i've driven everywhere offering voting packages for teams. John Pesutto addressed the Victorian Liberal Party State Council in Bendio on Saturday.David Crosling “I did it all, stood in the rain with you, stood in the puffy sun with you ... I was freezing cold at the railroad stations, because we are all part of a team. However, Mr. Pesutto's Spiel failed to convince an audience member who quickly fired "Trash." The opposition leader was later tested by the media for being disappointed by the heckling he faced when he was greeted on stage. "I got two standing ovations that occurred during my speech at the beginning and at the end," Pesutto said. "If there were people with differing views, that was an issue for them, but what I saw was a strong confirmation of my commitment to reform the party. Cuts of Moira Deeming's face were retained as John Pesutto was welcomed onto the stage at the Liberal Party State Council meeting. David Crosling “I was overwhelmed by fact that we were an effective opposition and then the government in 2026 and strong support in that room. "And I don't think anyone in that room can see it any other way." MS Deeming was kicked out of the party room last week after her participation in a Let Women Rally Speech, which she crashed by neo-Nazis in March. The party chamber voted 19 to 11 to approve a motion it accepted for violating a clause on "discrediting the Parliamentary Party." At the same party chamber meeting, Renee Heath, a supporter of Ms. Deeming, was removed from her role as Parliamentary Liberals Secretary.
