0I rant a bit in this one. I was tired and divided attention because I was playing, so I would like to clarify slightly.
My reference to the N64 era of "Release Games Work Because They Could Not Be Patched". The disingenuous will argue "BuT tHaT iS a FuLl ReLeAsE aNd ThIs Is EaRlY aCceSs".
Fucking so? The criteria is NOT "Is it a finished or not." False. Wrong. The criteria IS "Does the public have access to it?"
Proof that anything I have access to should be as good a quality as full release: The Experimental Snapshot. In DECENT game companies there is always a Official Build that is as bug free as any full release game should be. Is it perfect? No. But have they killed all MAJOR and COMMON bugs? Absolutely. Then, if you REALLY want to play with all the "New, buggy stuff", then they give you access to play on the Future/Experimental Build. It's just an option, so if you want to avoid buggy shit, you just play on the Official Build.
Proof that "Early Access" is not an excuse for delivering bugs to me.
Further, that's just bad game design, and I'll explain why in Factory Terms just to really make it so god damn obvious.
I build a machine. It is supposed to produce 4 outputs of belts, but I make a mistake... a bug... and accidentally only make 3 ouputs. I don't fix it immediately, and instead go on to build the entire rest of my factory.
"Later on" I now realize my bug. I try to go back to fix it by adding the 4th output... but the rest of my factory... was only built around the 3 belts of input. Now I have to update my entire factory just to fix the bug that I should have fixed in the beginning. A few seconds of work then became dozens of hours today.

Ultimately to INTENTIONAL delivery to me anything other than a STABLE build, to BY DEFAULT give me ONLY the "Experimental Build" you are literally wasting my time on purpose.
