4Alright, finally in the 3bil club!
With the upcoming Shmup Slam 4 event in which I will play this game alongside some other Alfa System shmup enthusiasts, I have to practice my consistency in order not to crash and burn live. My reset hell doesn't seem to be too insane thankfully, but stage 1 is definitely home to a shitton of silly mistakes and RNG madness. With the pressure of a live event, I can imagine that being even worse.
However, once I get out of stage 1, it looks like I usually handle the rest of the stages relatively well. That's at least the case here where I even didn't lose a single life up until the milk, notably thanks to some safer plays in stage 4, a panic bomb in 2-3 boss to save my ass and possibly a little bit of luck in 5-1 stage.
As a result I got what I think is the highest score pre-milk I ever had with Sayo at 780mil, even getting that 3rd extend before 5-1 boss.
My strat for the milk is similar to the previous attempts, but after checking HomeRun Akai's recording once again, I noticed that the third wave has a "free" crystal on the left side, which I now kill first before going to my usual starting position.
Overall said milk could have been better though. I took 3 goddamn hits in it, even though I've already shown to be able to do it with only 1 hit at best. Once I got hit while I was wondering if the run would be a 1-life (bruhhh lmao), once I didn't properly pay attention to the laser, and the other time the crystal was hidden by the HUD. Plus I killed the boss with 15 seconds remaining. Letting the timer run out before killing the boss is fine as I can handle 5-2 in under 70 seconds. I couldn't actually have used the whole remaining time for score since the attack was about to be the blue fireball one, but still, I missed out on some puntos there.
And then I got hit once during 5-2 wtf. With Sayo, this fight should be no problem to no-death and quick-kill. I have the strats, I have the tension shot, I have the planned bombs, it shouldn't happen. I still recovered my power and finished off the boss before timeout but still.
In the end, due to my milk hits, I didn't expect to get 3bil at all but instead some 2.999999 funny nonsense like several of my previous scores, including my former PB. But I got it! What a pleasant surprise!
