3New Shikigami no Shiro PB! Looks like I'm on a roll and the Shmup Slam practice is bearing fruit!
This run was done during a live session and it was even the first run, without any resets before. I managed to 1-life all the way to 5-1 boss; however I didn't score as well and got less than 750mil points. However, I still had one bomb and managed to get to the second phase quickly. Besides, I started the 5-1 boss with 499 seconds which is not my best time, but very close.
The milk went relatively well, no death whatsoever in it which is pretty groovy. I didn't even realize I was getting a great score until the end lmao. It was just me casually destroying the crystals and collecting the coins while talking about probably stupid things. My route through the milk may not be the best for consistent x8 but I have a general strategy that removes as many risks of deaths as possible.
The most notable thing is that I never vertically move inside a laser spawner and always fit in between two lasers instead. I used to go through lasers in some earlier 2billion point runs but I would always get hit multiple times due to hitbox bullshit. No such nonsense here anymore.
5-2 could have been better since I had this really dumb death at the end, but at least it got me bombs back that weren't too much for 5-3. Dang, the RNG in the first pattern was mean, I had to use several bombs there because I got walled.
Thankfully, I had enough resources to last through the rest of the boss fight and get this very nice score. As of the time of writing this, it also allowed me to beat both EmperorIng and Rezardi at once lmao, both of which will also play the game alongisde me and Mishi for Shmup Slam 4.
Next target is probably 3.5bil, but I'm more focused on being able to consistently clear the game for the live event. While most of the strats I use are for scoring, they are also as safe as I can without sacrificing too many points. I could take more risks to get more points, like better speedkilling on 2-3 boss, 4-3 boss, or also use the shikigami better in some spots like 4-1 or 5-1, but all of that is dangerous as hell. On the other hand, I added a new bomb-based strat to 3-2 boss which makes it a looot easier and faster. It's always lovely when that happens. And same for 4-1 dragon, even though I am not fully consistent on that strat yet.
