209Arcane is one of those rare Netflix shows that seems to get better every time you watch it. Its beautifully built world, complex characters, and deeply nuanced storytelling bring Piltover and Zaun to life in such a vivid way, that sometimes I wonder how a video game can inspire such a wonderful series. Now, since the very beginning, a big part of this immersion is the role of the drug Shimmer, which is both dangerous and incredibly alluring. After Vander’s death, Silco stepped in as the undercity’s new crime lord, quickly becoming the main supplier of Shimmer which transformed its users into powerful, monstrous beings. With Jinx aka Powder and Sevika by his side, Silco pushed the undercity deeper into corruption, preying on the very people Vander and Vi once tried to protect.
