Shing! Gameplay Preview - New Beat 'em Up Arcade Game
19Today I have a Shing! gameplay preview video to share with you all! Shing is a brand new beat 'em up game that has players taking on waves of Yokai. While you'll see me taking on the yokai on my own, Shing! is also a multiplayer game and can be played with up to four others.

In Shing! gameplay takes place in stages where enemies pour in and the player(s) must slice and dice their way through them. Each enemy behaves in different ways and so you'll gradually learn the most efficient ways to handle each of them. Shing does a good job of introducing challenges gradually, so you'll learn how to fight one specific new monster, and then the game throws two at you at once. And then two at you at once with a few other enemies mixed in and all of a sudden you can take on half an army when you previously struggled to take out that original monster 1v1.
Beyond the enjoyable learning curve, Shing! also has beautiful artwork. I really appreciate the lengths that the artists went to in an effort to present the game as clearly as possible. In between battles I found myself inspecting the details of each scene and enjoying how great the game looks.
Shing!'s story is about what you'd expect from a beat 'em up game: it's full of snappy attitudes and a bit of crass humor. Nothing too offensive, but it did get a little cringey from time to time. For me, that was the only aspect of the game I disliked. Shing! is a great game and I'm eager to play more of it.
