For the first time Since the beginning of the war. Saito home lands were now in danger of being invaded by the forces of Chosokabe. The winter cold seemingly doing nothing to the resolve of Motochika who famously spent a number of nights marching on foot alongside his men in winter enduring a frost bitten foot that almost had to be removed were it not for the then mystical miracles of the Nanban medicine. Then after many trials and triublations, two armies of the Chosokabe were in position to strike at the homes of those who had previously thought themselves unbeatable. This clash was however, to merely set the stage for the bloodiest fighting in the Civil war to date.
