Should you play Balatro?
Hello, everyone. My name is Eugene and today I'm going to review this new little card game called Balatro. Now I've never really considered myself a fan of deck builders but not too long ago I stumbled upon a recommendation on Steam. At first glance it was just another deck building poker game, but then I read the description: The poker roguelike. Balatro is a hypnotically satisfying deck builder. So needless to say I got curious and scrolled down to the review section. Most of the reviews already had over 50 hours on the game, even though it was relatively recent, saying how addictive and criminally fun the game was. So, I decided to give it a try. One hour turned into two, two into three, and before I knew it, it was late into the night. Losing over and over and trying to hit that jackpot hand was incredibly satisfying. In fact, I quit the game multiple times after losing, only to come back minutes later. I remember that night I even dreamed of playing poker—that's how addictive this game is! The next day, despite working on the Witcher 3 review, I looked forward to playing Balatro as a reward for hitting milestones in that video. Finally, I scored my winning hand after about 10 hours of play. I don't remember the last time I felt so satisfied with winning at a card game. It was great!
