Siemens presents: The first 1,100 kV HVDC Transformer (Part 4, short version)
Finally, the 1.100 kV arrives: Guquan substation in Anhui province. The transformers position is at the receiving end of a record setting HVDC connection: over 3,284 kilometers, from the northwest of China to this station. When the project is completed, a total of seven 1.100 kV transformers will supply the neighboring provinces with energy. Surely a milestone for Siemens! Thanks to the transformer factory in Nuremberg, the future looks bright.
Siemens Transformers has thereby reached a completely new level of HVDC: for the first time worldwide, direct-current electricity can be transmitted at a gigantic 1,100 kV.
