0Even if Green gets trapped, the game still registers inputs like C-formation and A or B presses (just not every frame).
Once he is trapped, get in a C-formation and stun the enemy with the slingshot. Then push against a wall to make Green move into the opposite direction. He can move over walls during this.
Once clipped, spin the control stick to release him, then transition on top.
Messed up the nova bomb screen, can be a little bit faster, but overall this strat can maybe save 2-5 seconds? Idk.
If you get unlucky, it takes forever to stun the enemy, and things can go all wrong anyway...
