A video of a simple electric motor. The enamel wire is wrapped into a coil, and suspended from two paper clips. The two leads of the coil that are in contact with the are prepared differently: one lead has all the enamel insulation sanded off, the other has half of it sanded off the long way to provide a de-facto commutator ring. An easy project.
