This game is not the most original JRPG, nor the most innovative. It is, however, the closest-to-perfect expression of everything which made the genre great at the end of the century.

It introduced a number of design innovations, including its amazing reactive soundtrack, animated facial expressions on in-game characters, and loadtime-free towns and dungeons.

I love Skies of Arcadia for many reasons, but most of all I love this game for its optimism and joy.
