Story:
This year's story is about a mysterious power known as “Mind Magic” used to create everything in Skylands. After discovering this ancient secret, Kaos has used its power to create an army of Doomlanders. This sets the scene for players to use the same "Mind Magic" to create their own Skylander characters and foil his evil plan.
Character Design:
These user creator characters are hugely flexible and can include a variety of body parts: Head, Eyes, Ears, Chest, Arms, Legs and Tails. You can adjust their size: height, scale head, upper body, muscles, tail width, lower body. You can also add gear: weapon, headgear, shoulder guards, arm guards, leg guards, backpack. Finally you can select different weapon powers, elemental powers, secret techniques, soul gems. There's even a way to construct a catchphrase and select a voice type for the creature.
These parts are collected as you play through the game in the chests and come in different frequencies: Common, Rare, Epic and Mythic.

The Sensei Skylanders are grouped into 10 battle classes: Knight, Ninja, Bowslinger, Sentinel, Smasher, Quickshot, Bazooka, Sorcerer, Brawler and Swashbuckler.
Each Sensei also has their own unique benefits including the ability to unleash Sky-Chi – the ultimate Battle Class super move. Sky-Chi is unlocked at Sensei Shrines.
The Creation Crystals are the physical toy that stores a single Imaginator. Each is elementally aligned and pulsate with light on the portal. THey will cost $9.99 each.
The standard pack include King-Pen, Golden Queen, a Creation Crystal and a Portal Of Power for $74.99.
The dark edition pack includes Dark Master King-Pen, Dark Golden Queen, Dark Wolfgang, 3 Creation Crystals for $99.99.
The Crash Bandicoot pack is exclusive to PlayStation and includes Crash Bandicoot, King-Pen, Golden Queen, a Creation Crystal and a Portal Of Power for $99.99.
The game will follow up Skylanders Battlecast and be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. No confirmation of Wii or 3DS or iOS like previous years. It will release on October 13 in Australia/New Zealand, October 14 in Europe and October 16 in North America.
