There is next to ZERO information about the Synod in collective Elder Scrolls Lore aside from snide remarks made during the College of Winterhold questline in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, a short discussion with a member of the Synod that reveals pretty much nothing, and then a brief mention in one of the Elder Scrolls novels. In short, I made stuff up, as I always do.

As I've had to mention to people, this character build video is not a lore video, if you want to check out Elder scrolls Lore, I recommend checking out the Shoddycast series https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7pGJQV-jlzCPBUy9uAXQUXZ4UBaDLKS5 on Elder Scrolls Lore, as it is accurate and unlike these videos, not woven specifically to build up a single character. Although you'll see the Knight of the Nine made a guest spot in this one.

As for Character Builds Themselves, I was inspired to make this series watching some of the FudgeMuppet Character Build Videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqRSg7jrFQk&list=PLt4dvC3zSbYDetu9ssTQ7oNn5AhqoprEa&index=5 and thought I'd create my own using MODS exclusively, actually basing the characters starting skills and powers AROUND a lore+mod Combo.

In short, what i look for when creating a character build is the following:
1 - Mod Based Mechanics to extend the gameplay experience beyond that of the Vanilla one.
2 - A connection to Elder Scrolls Lore that makes the character feel fun to play, as if they actually had a history beyond being a nameless prisoner.

Those two guidelines are what I use to create the character builds, and the videos are more or less just a presentation. If you have an idea that meets those guidelines, feel free to suggest a new build at http://www.reddit.com/r/zhakaron I do periodic voting sessions there, and I'm hoping to get some viewer suggestions I can incorporate into the next pool of votes.
