1) Here’s my reasoning for using a crossbow over a bow (and why the enhanced dwarven rather than an AE bow) since I imagine this will be the most common question. While bows are often thought to do higher DPS than crossbows, the difference in fire rate is not very significant when fully drawing each shot. I know that many people think ~90% bow draws provide the highest DPS, especially if you have watched glitchless speedruns (I do them myself). This is true in normal play, but sneak criticals completely throw this off. Even if you run an auto clicker to perfectly quickdraw every shot, you’ll notice a massive DPS loss over the crossbow when testing rapid sneak criticals. TLDR: because of how dramatically less than 100% draw affects bow damage when using sneak criticals, crossbows output hig(her DPS. Why no AE crossbows? I forgot they existed.
2) In the base game, Battleaxes have the same swing speed as Greatswords. The DPS difference is so negligible between the two that I would have used a Greatsword if not for my OCD when making BiS items. In any case, the difference is so small it’s irrelevant.
3) Marked for Death is broken and ridiculous. I know that it’s part of the base game, and I did use unenchanted/enchanted for dual wield buffs and battleaxes which might be kind of exploity, but the damage buff from marked for death is too insane. I just think it’s silly, but if you’re curious about how it affects DPS, just add -4500 armour to your damage calculation (I forget the multiplier). Nearly everything, except magic, goes over 1,000,000 DPS.
4) I calculate DPS by adding the damage dealt by every hit and dividing the total damage dealt to the dummy by the time, in seconds, that it took to kill it. I did this with frame advance in the video editor. This method considers overkill damage which I think is the best way to go about it.
5) So this is the big thing, the guide on how to replicate this. If you're lazy (or maybe just sane) and want to use console commands, here are the perfectly optimised stats that are possible with potion effects using rare curios items, miscellaneous buffs such as Azhidal's set bonus or Seeker of Shadows, gear enchantments, and (importantly) one stack of the buff from the Necromantic Grimoire CC: Alchemy 1073 for 127% fortify enchanting potions, Enchanting 557 for 87% weapon damage buffs x4, Smithing 1200 for item quality level of 102 (About 2800 damage with enhanced dwarven crossbow for example).
There isn't enough length in a youtube description for me to give full guides, so follow these:
Smithing https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Smithing
Alchemy https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Alchemy
Enchanting https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Enchanting
The Gear is as follows (per relevant piece):
+87% weapon damage (one-handed or two-handed or archery), +87% sneak, everything else is whatever you want. Use one of the dragon priest masks from the dragonborn DLC whenever your head slot is free (any time you're not using archery). Chaos enchantments are used because, while they are bugged, they still outDPS Fire + Shock with even mediocre RNG because of the passive enchantment damage buff they give to the Frost damage.
6) Big Thing: I forgot to put Blessings on the text cards. 10% One-Handed and 10% Archery are in play thanks to Boethiah’s Blessing and Auriel’s Blessing. Sorry for using the Orc buff and centralising DPS around race. It’s just kind of how it is. You can subtract 50% white damage from the calculation if you’re curious about other races. Regarding the poison, 12730 damage and 191% weakness to poison are obtainable with jarrin root and uhh… actually I don’t remember what else is in it. It must be something from the Rare Curios creation, but I recorded this a while ago and actually can’t remember what the poison is made with. Just check UESP and test with quickloads.
7) It seems that if your sneak buffs are high enough, you can attack enemies and they won't see you even if you don't one-shot them.
